Get Free LeadsThere are many ways to get free leads. Initially, these methods do not generate as many leads as paid advertising, but if you follow most of the techniques outlined here religiously, you will eventually generate more leads than you will ever need.
One of the easiest to understand and implement is blogging. I didn’t get it at first, but I do now. When you post something new on your blog, the search engines pick up on it. When you include tags with your post, then these posts get categorized with keywords. If you happen to post something about a topic which is rare, then your blog post won’t have much competition in the search engines. Anybody searching for that topic gets shown your blog post-traffic. FREE TRAFFIC!! That means you will get free leads. So if you post something new every day (more if you really want to generate traffic fast) you will even develop a following. You will soon see the traffic to your blog increase. You must remember two very important things though. You MUST include meta tags with your posts (try to stay a little obscure) and you MUST include links on your blog site. Traffic to your blog will not result in leads or sales if they are not redirected to your offer. If you don’t have your own blog yet, you can do this at these sites:
There are many more, so if you don’t find one you like here, simply type “blog” into any search engine.
Submitting articles to article directories can generate lots of traffic and ultimately help you get free leads if you do it correctly. The best way to go about it is to make sure your articles are of high quality. Only write about topics that you know a lot about. Trying to bs your way through will not work. Keep your topics relevant to your website or offer so that anybody reading the article will be interested in visiting your site. Writing about how to grow corn in Arizona will not produce visits or sales on your site about motorcycle tune up parts. Keep your articles between 400 and 550 words. Studies have shown these to be the most effective. Submit your articles only to reputable directories. The best one to submit to is Ezine Articles. They have pretty stringent rules you must adhere to and getting your articles accepted there will add a lot of credibility to both your article and you as an author. Do NOT try to submit the same exact article to multiple directories. Search engines will discover this and sand bag your article. If you want to submit the same information, that is OK, but make sure you rewrite it first. Again, include links in both your articles and your profile. Be sure your articles are categorized properly (to the best of your ability). This method is a slow process and you really need to submit a LOT of articles before you notice any definite results, but articles stay in directories for the life of the directory, so once the traffic starts, you will continue to get free leads forever (provided your topic continues to be searched).
A lot of marketers turn to social media. These platforms are HUGE and virtually untapped. As of June, 2013, there were 1.11 billion facebook users. Start your own fan page ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/create/ ). Share your fan page with friends, ask them to share with their friends, etc., etc., Keep your fan page interesting. The best way to grow your following is to post an ad in facebook ads. Once people start to come, get them to click like, leave a comment, subscribe, share the link with their friends. If you are good at engaging your audience, this will snowball very rapidly. This is a VERY powerful tool if you can build a subscriber list of 10,000 or more. It’s like having your own email list. If they are subscribed to your fan page, then every time you post something new, they get the post. With a fan base of 10,000, you will see IMMEDIATE results from your postings. You can also link your FB account with other social media sites like Twitter. Your posts will automatically be tweeted at the same time. Social media is by far the most effective way to generate free leads. It takes some practice to develop a system that works but once you reach a point, it will be all you need.

Posting on forums is still somewhat effective for generating traffic. To do this, though, I would purchase a forum submitting software. All of your accounts must first be set up and make sure that the ones you do sign up for allow you to post links in both your posts and your profile. There are other ways to get free leads, but these listed are the most reliable and give the best results.
